“The Demented Life”

David Redulfin Corpuz is studying Film at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. Friends call him “David” or “Demento”, the latter name he preferred better. He also went to Don Bosco Technical College in Mandaluyong, when it was still an exclusive school for boys, where he cranked his cranium deciphering that his real love is in the arts, and not on tinkering motherboards and breaking codes. He also went to Francisco Homes College in the green city of Bulacan, when it was still not yet a college, where he learned how to boil water without having all the water evaporated to oblivion and aced Calculus and Trig as if his world revolves around the Euclidean Plane and The Fundamental Theorem of Calculus which states that differentiation and integration are, in a certain sense, inverse operations… which still doesn’t make sense to him after solving thousand dozens of problems. So far, his biggest objective is to finish his anthology of senseless short fictions and his script for the future feature length film he endeavors to direct before leaving school. He also dreams of becoming the first Filipino director to have his film nominated and win in the Oscars.
